Western Digital to Show Off its Advanced Smart Video Solutions at Intersec Dubai 2023

Western Digital will be showcasing its latest in smart video solutions at Intersec Dubai and visitors will be able to see innovations in high-capacity, high-performance storage solutions for advanced, AI-enabled, always-on smart video recorders, appliances, and servers. Debuting live, the company’s new hard disk drives (HDDs) are loaded with cutting-edge technologies, including OptiNAND technology, energy-assisted PMR (ePMR), triple-stage actuator (TSA), and HelioSeal to deliver the industry’s highest CMR areal density at 2.2TB per platter, resulting in 22TB CMR HDDs for its customers.

On display will be Western Digital’s new 22TB range of WD Purple hard disk drives (HDDs), engineered specifically for smart video and includes three product solutions: WD Purple Pro HDD, WD Purple HDD, and WD Purple microSD card. Offering improved efficiency for overall video playback, these devices bring reliable, surveillance-class storage that has been tested for compatibility with a wide range of smart video systems. WD Purple Pro drives are optimised to handle up to 64 single-stream HD cameras as well as many of the latest smart cameras that transmit multiple streams. It offers high reliability with an MTBF of up to 2.5 million hours for advanced smart video solutions that operate in 24/7 environments.

Moreover, the company will be showcasing its industry-leading Ultrastar DC HC570 22TB CMR hard drives to support cloud service providers (CSPs), video surveillance as a service (VSaaS) providers, telcos, and system integrators. Delivering the industry’s highest CMR areal density, these drives help customers store more data and videos in the same footprint, the lower total cost of ownership (TCO), and help meet sustainability goals. Additionally, one of the new technology innovations in its 22TB Ultrastar HDD is a feature uniquely enabled by OptiNAND that combines the performance of write cache enabled (WCE) mode and the data protection of write cache disabled (WCD) mode, offering the best of both scenarios without compromise.

And finally, visitors to the Western Digital stand (stand S1-J11) will also witness a live demonstration of its storage platform system, the Ultrastar Data102, addressing the demanding storage needs of large enterprise customers, storage OEMs, cloud service providers, as well as resellers/integrators requiring dense, shared HDD. With unique IsoVibe and ArcticFlow technologies for a cool reliable operation, the Data102 provides up to 2.2PB of raw storage in 4U using the company’s 22TB CMR HDDs in a compact and efficient form factor.

Intersec will be taking place in Dubai World Trade Center from January 17th to January 19th, 2023.

DESC to Highlight Dubai’s Cyber Defense Strategies as GISEC 2025 Government Partner

The Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) is set to participate as the official government cybersecurity partner for the eighth consecutive year in the 14th edition of the Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference (GISEC Global 2025), taking place from May 6-8 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The Center’s participation in GISEC Global 2025, which gathers over 25,000 cybersecurity professionals representing more than 160 countries, aligns with its strategic objectives aimed at advancing the Dubai Cyber Security Strategy and reinforcing Dubai’s position as one of the world’s digitally safest cities.

This participation reflects the Center’s commitment to safeguarding digital infrastructure, fostering innovation, enhancing cyber resilience, and promoting robust cooperation at both the local and international levels. During the three-day event, DESC will spotlight a number of key initiatives, including the “Dubai Cyber Challenge”, an exclusive competitive simulation designed to enhance the cyber readiness of Dubai government entities, and the “School of Cyber Defense” CTF competition, which attracted registrations from over 300 university students, engaging them in technical challenges and hands-on training. These programs form a key part of DESC’s ongoing efforts to build a pipeline of skilled cybersecurity professionals equipped to navigate evolving digital threats.

Visitors to GISEC Global 2025 are invited to explore DESC’s initiatives at Stand A80 in Hall 7, where DESC will showcase its latest projects, including future-ready cybersecurity guidelines and certification programs designed to keep pace with the evolving digital landscape and strengthen national capabilities. OPSWAT Joins GISEC 2025 as Middle East Confronts AI-Driven Cyber Threats

OPSWAT has announced its diamond-level sponsorship of GISEC Global 2025, the Middle East and Africa’s premier cybersecurity event. Scheduled for 6-8 May at Dubai World Trade Centre, the exhibition will be hosted by the UAE Cybersecurity Council in partnership with the Dubai Electronic Security Center.

Kuwait Renews Cyber First Initiative to Strengthen Digital Defenses for Vision 2035

In a time of accelerating digital transformation, the 3rd Cyber First Kuwait Edition took center stage at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Kuwait, bringing together over 300 technology leaders, cybersecurity professionals, and policymakers to address the country’s evolving digital threat landscape and cybersecurity vision. Organized by Events First Group, the conference supports the new Kuwait Vision 2035 and the nation’s ambitious National Cybersecurity Strategy.

The summit will feature keynote presentations, expert panel discussions, real-world case studies, and an exhibition showcasing cutting-edge solutions.
